Photographer Statement

As an event photographer, my work goes much further than mere documentation. For an event, I interact one-on-one with a non profit’s director, staff, and the public so I can understand what an organization’s mission is and how they affect their community. The better I understand this, the better I can represent their story through images. I build personal relationships with my clients in order to create work that helps these organizations grow, so they can continue to improve the lives of the people around them. With an appreciation for what art can do for someone, I aim to make photographs that show the impact arts-based non profits leave on a community.
